Jill C. Glick, MD, MPEEC Medical Director

Dr. Glick is a certified child abuse pediatrician and the founder of MPEEC. In 1993, she established the University of Chicago Medicine Comer Children’s Hospital Child Advocacy and Protective Services (CAPS) team, now widely recognized for its excellence. As MPEEC’s medical director, she leads a statewide network of doctors and child abuse experts dedicated to using medical investigation techniques and an interdisciplinary approach with law enforcement and child services to identify child maltreatment. She also serves as chair of the child abuse and neglect committee for the Illinois chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics and is an active member of the Helfer Society, a fellowship of child abuse medical specialists.

Dr. Glick is passionate about expanding MPEEC as a model for accurately investigating and determining child abuse. As a result of her child advocacy work, she has received numerous awards and honors, including the Biological Sciences Division Distinguished Community Service and Advocacy Faculty Award, the Prevent Child Abuse Illinois “Friend of Children Professional Award,“ the Pritzker School of Medicine Gold Humanism Award, and the University of Chicago Medicine Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Humanitarian Award.

Dawn David, MHA, MPEEC Program Manager

Dawn joined MPEEC in May 2020. As Program Manager, she facilitates the contract between DCFS and MPEEC and handles administrative operations, including acting as the liaison for the central research administration office, human resources, and finance. Dawn previously worked at the University of Chicago’s Department of Pediatrics and the Department of Medicine and Molecular Genetics & Cell Biology. Altogether she brings 15 years of experience in an academic setting and a valuable skillset to the MPEEC program.

Dawn earned her bachelor’s degree at Northern Illinois University and a master’s in healthcare administration at Governors State University.

How to Report Suspected Child Abuse in Illinois

If you suspect that a child has been harmed or is at risk of being harmed by abuse or neglect, call the Illinois DCFS 24-hour Child Abuse Hotline at 800-25-ABUSE (800-252-2873).

For non-life-threatening and non-emergency incidents regarding abuse or neglect of a child, you may submit a report online.
